Control Freaks Blog Tour: Sending Love Valentine Card & Window Box

It has been a few months since I have been able tour with my Control Freak Stamper friends, but I'm excited to join this month's blog tour to share some stamping inspiration with you. Whether you came from Dawn Olchefske's blog or you're just arriving -- welcome!! This month, we are sharing projects using new goodies from the 2017 Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration brochure.

Since Valentine's Day is less than a month away, I choose to focus projects to celebrate this occasion. I love the clean and simple layout of this "sending love" card. I combined die cut elements using the Love Notes Framelits with a row of circles that pop against the black card front.

You'll need to die cut the Window Box Framelits twice to make one of these hexagon boxes. I designed this simple version to make with my Stamp Club this week. The beautiful detail on the top makes this box extra special. I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to put on the inside which helps give the lip more stability and strength.

This box is bigger than I envisioned! I used a piece of 6" x 12" cardstock to die cut both box halves. We have several options for 12" x 12" cardstock in the Occasions Catalog, including the Falling in Love Cardstock Pack, so be sure to check them out! I used Multipurpose Liiquid Glue to assemble the box, except for the lid -- o it can be opened without destroying the box!

That's all I have for you today! I hope you'll come back and visit me again for more Stampin' Up! project ideas. I will be sharing some more ideas using the Window Box thinlits and a video with tips to assemble the box in the next week. In the meantime, continue on the blog tour to check out what the talented Connie Babbert has in store for you this month!

I love that your Valentine's card is more bold-looking, and not too frilly and feminine....perfect for a guy! And the window box is just so sweet. (They were bigger than I had imagined, too.)
